FL Board of Bar Examiners Opening
Assistant General Counsel -- Applications due Tuesday, March 31, 2026;
The board is accepting applications for an Assistant General Counsel position at its office in Tallahassee, Florida. The full time position is available May, 2026.
Qualified applicants must be members of The Florida Bar who have graduated from an ABA-accredited law school. They also must have excellent academic credentials and at least five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney with significant experience in civil, criminal, or administrative litigation. In addition, job applicants must work well with others and have character equal to that of applicants for admission to the Bar whose background investigation is cleared without review by the Board.
Job responsibilities include drafting briefs and other documents in connection with litigation in the Florida Supreme Court and federal courts; assisting with the development of bar exam content and grading exams; handling Bar applicant matters that require a formal hearing; and advising the Board and Board staff on legal compliance. The salary range for the position is $80,000-$128,000. Beginning salary will be commensurate with experience. The Board offers a liberal benefits package including 14 days of annual leave, 12 days of sick leave, and 11 paid holidays per year. Additional benefits are: State of Florida retirement, State health insurance, life insurance, deferred compensation, dental insurance, 125B cafeteria plan and several supplemental insurance plans. Payroll is semi-monthly with direct deposit.
