Do you know a woman attorney in the Second Judicial Circuit who has overcome adversity on her path to becoming an attorney??
Rose Deeb Kitchen became an attorney despite many obstacles, including a culture that did not prioritize education - particularly in women, a divorce, and raising three children as a single parent. She was a founding member of TWL in 1980 and was an active
member of TWL, TBA, and FGBA – some of the voluntary bar associations in the Second Judicial Circuit that are jam-packed today with women attorneys who are leaders in the legal community, thanks to the tireless efforts from those who helped pave the way, such as Rose Deeb Kitchen.
Since 2017, TWL and the Deeb Kitchen Family have honored Rose’s legacy with this annual award to recognize women in the Second Judicial Circuit who have overcome obstacles and hardship to become attorneys.
