Florida's New Summary Judgment Standard

Effective May 1, 2021, the Supreme Court of Florida amended Florida’s summary judgment rule to nearly mirror the federal standard. Board certified appellate specialist Courtney Brewer will detail what changes were made and how the two rules still differ. She will also cover the key federal cases from which the rule is derived, as well as federal and state case law that might guide particular summary judgment issues.
